BPB supports Ferizaj farmers
On 22 June 2016, a contract was signed between BPB Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Arton Celina and Ferizaj Mayor Muharrem Svarqa.
The signed agreement reflects a cooperation arrangement that provides benefits to Ferizaj-municipality-based farmers. BPB won a tender offered by Ferizaj Municipality that anticipates subventions for the payment of interests on agricultural loans.
BPB CEO Arton Celina congratulated Ferizaj Municipality for this contract that aims to support the local economy and in particular the agriculture sector, which has high importance for the region of Ferizaj. The essence of the initiative is the municipality’s contribution for the subvention of interest rates, which helps farmers who are interested in taking loans from BPB.
The Mayor of Ferizaj expressed his satisfaction for the realization of this project, noting the high agricultural potential in Ferizaj Municipality. The Municipality will make available the necessary funds through BPB, thus ensuring that the interest payments on agricultural loans are covered from the municipal budget. “The total sum earmarked for this purpose is €594,000, to be dispersed over three years,” said Mayor Svarqa, adding that this is the first contract of its kind in Kosovo.
